unbreakable

Alright, yesterday was the first day in history when a black man (Barack Obama) was elected to the presidential office of the united states of america. Last night surreal, posted up at CLICS, simultaneously studying and watching the electoral votes ring up on the presidential candidate scoreboards.

finally around 8-9ish Obama pwned McCain when he reached 270s vs McCain's 130s. Cries from the heavens and from the lower level of Clics rang out. I took off my obama shirt and ran topless throughout the revelle plaza screaming my lungs out. haha i kid. but i did display the shirt near the entrance of clics it to show the ucsdians the new boss tycoon of the usa.

today i am at sexy bml writing this thang with new hope for the future and a new mindset.

also, my rosary that my grandma had given me finally broke after 11 years (since 4th grade) of 24/7 usage. :(

(I was cutting my hair and giving myself the presidential line when it happened, not sure if it got caught in the clippers, but it just fell off cleaved at one end.)

not as sad as i thought that i would be when this day had to come. although its breaking could symbolize the loss of my faith, i find that this is certainly not true. since it is only a material, non-relic object it serves only as a reminder, not as the total embodiment of christianity.

i am still the same person i am without the necklace because i know that my faith and values within myself are unbreakable.

Fortunately, I do have a replica, that I am excited to wear when I get back home to the bay.

Ecclesiastes 12:7
then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
